Flairs is a French band, who has officially re-released their single "Better Than Prince" with brilliant remixes from Benjamin (texas/Kitsuné) 25HRS a day (Phoenix & Cassius remixes) and Alavi (reRoX). Flairs also got the golden hand treatment from French Wonders Jonas & François (Justice D.A.N.C.E, Kavinsky, Keanye West…) for the single's "Better Than Prince" which is a stunning animated psychedelic Walt Dysney on acid video. Flairs just recently finished producing & mixing a debut album "The love symbol".. be sure to stay tunned!

SOULWAX' hotly anticipated film / documentary "Part of the Weekend Never Dies" will have its premiere at the Ether Festival at the Royal Festival Hall in London today April 24.

There is always one song that stands out in the back of my head when the weekend ends and this is the one that I've been humming for the last couple hours. I decided to post this retro track and make it an epidemic flashback. Hope you have a great start and those seratonin levels are OK!

Flashback:
"Money for Nothing" is a song by British group Dire Straits, which became an international hit when released as a single in 1985. The song was notable for its controversial lyrics, groundbreaking music video and a cameo appearence by Sting singing the song's iconic falsetto introduction and backing chorus, a borrowing of the cable network's slogan "I want my MTV". The video was also the first to be aired on MTV Europe when the network started on 1987.
The songwriting credits are shared between Mark Knopfler and Sting. Sting was visiting during the recording of the song, and was invited to add some background vocals. Sting has stated that his only contribution was the "I Want My MTV" line, which was sung in partial parody of his own song "Don't Stand So Close to Me", originally recorded by The Police.

Jetset Hifi is a DJ/Producer from Belgium that has that fresh treshold sound between disco and chaos. As he auto-describes himself "Jetset Hifi is what happens when you’re surrounded by old dusty machines more than is good for you." Be on the look out for more of sound crunchin' tunes from Jetset Hifi.

Girl Is Tough is a new project that comes from the Hermosillo nu kidz scene, "This Is" is the first track available, Dnis's voice and synth loops breaks through and definitively get the message across.. the Girl Is Tough!. Recently she's been working along special guest musicians to create a mixture of sound and ideas, rest assure that this is only the beginning of something great to come.. just reset and rewind!

SebastiAn's new tracks is called Dog, be warned this is a track full of metal noize! Ed Records Vol. III is soon to come out on May 26.

The Presets are a Sydney-based electronic duo, consisting of Julian Hamilton and Kim Moyes. Their song Girl and the Sea is that perfect combination of hot and cold, light and dark, which got the duo a lot of airtime and attention. They have toured along many well known bands such as 2 Many DJ’s and Ladytron, and most recently with The Rapture. Their live shows are very energy driven and are sure to get you rockin' dancin' sweatin' and jumpin'!!

I've been pondering the idea and felt compelled to try something new.. posting fun retro tracks that everyone can enjoy, so to start of this new tradition here is a track from The Clash!

The Clash - Rock the Casbah

Flashback:
The Clash were an English punk rock band, active from mid 70's to mid 80's and were part of the original wave of UK punk. The song "Rock the Casbah" lyrics include a mixture of Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, and North African terms such as sharif, bedouin, sheikh, kosher, raga, muezzin, and casbah. Some theories indicate that the song was inspired by the ban of rock music in Iran under Ayatollah Khomeini. The King ordered jet fighters to bomb any people in violation of the ban. The pilots ignored the orders, and instead played rock music on their cockpit radios.

Is it just me, or does this track have remix potential?

While details on who is behind this great project called Prepare To Meet Thy Broom! are still a mystery, we are proud to say that they are part of the nu wave of talent from within the Juarez/El Paso area, their tracks are gettin' much deserved attention. As a friend of mine said they have a very "in your face" sound and sure to get people dancing their shoes off on the dancefloor, Prepare To Meet Thy Broom!.. need I say more?

Sébastien Tellier is a French singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist signed to Record Makers an independent record label. His fourth studio album Sexuality is a mellow synth-pop (an album about sex and love-making) and was produced by non-other than Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo of Daft Punk.
