Starskee - My Way (Danger Remix)

Starskee - My Way (Danger Remix)
Source: LA Friendly

You know I just can't resist posting yet another Danger remix here on Nu Kidz. It's exactly the kinda of melody that you want to listen while waking up, enough electro mojo to make your entire day happy! I sound like a hopeless romantic teenager talking about the girl he can't dare speak to.. haha. Anyways, download it.. it's a must have!

Enjoy,
Easy

I can make you excited...

I haven't been following Walter Meego too closely...I've read a couple of things here and there , saw a couple of blog posts, heard a couple of songs... and I definitely dig their sound just haven't REALLY gotten into them... Until now.
This Remix of their track forever by Escort really got me in a proper groove
zshare

There's also a more banger-y version of this song by van she tech (not too bangerish though)
zshare

Anywho since were on a more lighter note... I have to give some love to LA's Acid Girls who just dropped an amazing remix of Sisters of Transistors - The Don, one that will surely give them their credit where credit is due, I think this might be the year for them and not a moment too soon...

Thanks, Meet The 80kidz

80kidz - Life Begins at Eighty

I want to take a moment and thank everyone who attended the 2nd Nu Kidz blog party last Friday @ Topaz, the turn out was amazing.. 400 kidz dancing to great tunes all night. Good news is we are getting ready for the next and the 3rd Nu Kidz party is in the works for Saturday, October 25 @ Aura, line up will soon be announced but trust me it will blow your tops off once again, stayed tunned more details.

I think, I got lost on the online freeway and never saw the 80kidz exit sign, did you? From Japan comes these kidz and their filtered distortion sound just got my attention immediately. I really don't know much about them, but I must say it reminds me of Eduardo Banger in a sense. Shout out to the Lion who gave me the heads up and hooked me with this great track, thanks!

Bonus track:

You know you want this...

Well yeah pretty much EVERYONE has been waiting for this one....

MGMT - KIDS (SOULWAX NITE VERSION)

Funny what a little hype and a lot of youtube can do, pretty much every electro Dj I know was salivating heavily over this one, and it does not dissapoint, soulwax is consistent with their material being top notch, high quality, face melting versions...

Check out the documentary PART OF THE WEEKEND NEVER DIES info on how to get it is on their myspace

Also on the more nu disco brooklyn side... check out holy ghost! from Brooklyn came out with an amazing remix, they are in TJ town this weekend so hope to do a bit of dancin'

THIS ONE GOES UP TO 11

Got invited by mr easy to write on the blog and since we all love the nukidz well here we go...

It's been an interesting summer and you can see the musical trends changing day by day, few trax get me going these days as far as electro is concerned... they say the banger is dying, But there are still those producers who do it well..

1. Alex GopherAurora (Shinichi Osawa remix) Mr Osawa for one does it again.. and does it well.

I have been listening to a lot of late of the pier lately, the album and the remixes this one by the shoes does it for me...

2. Late of the pier - Focker (The Shoes Remix)

Since i heard Creator a while ago, and the Santogold album ive been waiting for some decent floor trax... but my favorite is definitely this one by david rubato..

3. Santogold - Lights out (David Rubato remix)

Thats it for me for now.. but ill be posting some more stuff soon

Hair like Andy Warhol

Bloc Party-Mercury(CSS Remix)

With the CSS show coming up next week in Monterrey, I wanted to share the remix they did for Bloc Party's first single off their third album "Intimacy". Which is currently on digital release on their website. Alot of people feel that the album has been rushed and are bothered by some of the computerized tracks. In my opinion I enjoy addition of electronic elements to the album, however I miss Matt Tong's excellent drum techniques. To get an idea of what the album sounds like, check out some of these other tracks from the album. The album will have a hardcopy release on October 27th.
Cheers.

Austin City Limits

We all know that Austin is one of the most active cities in the US rock culture, and that it hosts 2 big "band" festivals; ACL & SXSW.
I think we're all familiar with the ACL Music Festival; a 3-day event of concerts in the city´s "borders".
Far different from the SXSW, the ACL presents from mid-pop to mainstream artists. This year´s lineup includes bands like Beck, Manu Chao, David Byrne, The Mars Volta, Gnarls Barkley, N.E.R.D, Iron & Wine, Hot Chip, Vampire Weekend, the legendary Roky Erickson, CSS, Antibalas, etc.

What may not be equally known here is the fact that there's a chance for 1 "totally indie" band. This band is chosen from a 4-Round contest where every musician is wellcome to join and compete. The contest mixes fan support and expert musician judges to decide who makes it to the party.
The contest has filtered 20 bands out of hundreds of competitors around the world...and there's one mexican leading the battle; 60 TIGRES.

This Monterrey-based band is a funky-dance-punk mixture of sounds that's been growing big lately. They played in last year's SXSW and now with a full album and an energetic live show, they promise to deliver a "psychedelic Tito Puente with a mohwak" to Austin's big stages...and they're doing that through online fan-voting.

You can support the band by visiting their site and voting on DELL's contest. Listen to the album "Los Emigrantes", browse their myspace and if you like it, do it. To make things EASY, you can suscribe to the mail list and you'll be sent the vote link, they also send exclusive short stories, news and music previews. So, support your local movement and mexican indie musicians.

HELLO

Hello
I'm Mau, Architect, music lover, art enthusiast.
An EASY way to explain who I am is with my nick: Poliphilo...a renaissence character, famous in architecture literature, introduced to me by an teacher in Montreal, who wrote Polyphilo (the modern remake of the historical novel)

The name Poliphilo is Greek for "lover of Polia". But Polia, in turn, translates as "Many Things". And, indeed, besides Polia, Poliphilo loves many things: diaphanous garments, precious stones and gems, gold, fine linen, food, chandeliers, sculptures, epigrams, sweet fragances, ballet, triumphal processions, hieroglyphs, mosaics, antiques vases and, not least, women's shoes - all the objects that make up the "total design" concept of the courtly humanist Renaissence lifestyle. But he loves architecture the most; he loves it as much as he loves Polia, and in the same carnal way.

so thats pretty much the idea. Just apply that to architecture AND MUSIC.

I've been around music all my life...well......IT IS MY LIFE.
